Where in the hell am I?

What a difference a day makes!

less swollen creek

This photo shows the same creek crossing, roughly 25 hours later. The water level has dropped 6-7 feet. This revealed a sweet log bridge, which we used to get across! The water level below the bridge was still at least 6 feet, and the creek was still above the normal channel.
The thunderstorms never manifested themselves today, which meant we actually got a lot done. We surveyed this 1/2 mile area, another 1 km reroute (both walk in/out), and a minor crossing we added yesterday after scoping out the landforms. Lots of walking through mud and swamp and cow shit. But it made this trip feel almost worthwhile.
There may still be some more work to do tomorrow. This trip was actually instigated because a TRO (temporary restraining order) was supposed to be served to a landowner, allowing us and the other crews access to the property for survey. But, whoever was supposed to take care of this apparently forgot to go to court, and the client still hasn’t let us know if the property will be available. Another snafu, in the truest sense of the word.

Also, once again, I forgot my good camera and had to rely on my stupid phone camera.
