There’s really not a lot to say about this project. The landscape is boring. The archaeology thus far has been limited to an isolated biface fragment, a historic cattle dipping vat, and some possibly historic tin cans. Considering that we’ve surveyed 33 linear miles so far, that’s not a whole let.
Yesterday’s excitement for me was flushing out 6 wild pigs, and listening to a mockingbird. Today’s excitement was two deer, and the fact that I finished my transect first.
My slogan for this project is, “Move along, nothing to see here.”
Honestly, though, at least the project is running very smoothly. I’m working with nice people (as always), although I’m generally around a quarter-mile from the nearest person (see photo above!), so interaction is mostly on the (long) drive to and from the project area.
Anyway, there’s some photos of rocks and plants on the Flickr feed. Enjoy.
